Aventurine

While up in Oak Glen a few days back, I came across various gemstones for sale that related to chakras and zodiac signs. I am an Aries and my assigned stone is Aventurine. It's gorgeous. And according to the packaging, the aventurine pendant was supposed to aid in bringing out the best in an Aries, heal the physical heart (heart disease runs rampant in my family...so why not start being concerned early?), and make one more daring. I'd like all of that, please. I was about to take the pendant to the register to purchase it when I realized I didn't need a stupid rock to tell me what I could or couldn't do. So, screw you, $4.50 rock!

Trilobites of the Marble Mountains

I am so very excited for our camping trip to Joshua Tree and an outting/excavation to the Marble Mountains! There, we will attempt to uncover some trilobite fossils. Trilobites were some of the earliest life members from the early Camrian age. I can't wait....

And at the Marble Mountains...apparently there are these guys: http://www.trilobites.info/CA.htm

Dusky Eyes

Now that the winter break is over, the binder's been broken out...new college-ruled, loose leafed paper all stacked neatly inside. My last semester at CHC is at hand. I am excited. And a little frightened. Here are some last glimpses at the hibernation:

Don't Forget the Crystals

Quartzite, AZ
I wish to wander there.

During part of January and February, the town of Quartzite holds a market of sorts; half mineral show, half swap meet. It's heavenly.

Also, while researching Quartzite, Arizona, came about some amazingly wonderous photos of crystals. I was enticed!

Ok, so this man here is obviously amazing and so are those minerals.
